Coscon, an annual cosplay contest is here again! This year it will be even grand and exciting as Cos-players dress up as their favorite manga, anime, tokusatsu, video games, and even fantasy movies, visual kei, novels and anything in real world!

One may have heard of cosplaying? But does one know what cosplaying really is? Cosplaying(コスプレ, “kosupure”)short for “costume play” is basically describing a performing-art behavior of self-rigging out a character with corresponding custome, accessories and/or parameters. Sounds deep? Well, it simply meant dressing up as characters and doing a roleplay such as imitating their speech and actions etc. Cosplay can be seen at public events such as video game shows and also dedicated cosplay parties, such as the one coming up (Coscon). Cosplay costumes are unique and very different from typical events costumes such as Halloween. Cosplayers pay rigorous attention to intricate details of their costumes. These might include exact colour replication, seams alignment and even down to small details like what buttons to be used.

Many Cosplayers spend months sourcing and making their perfect piece of costume.And it is on occasions like cosplay events that like-minded people gather to admire each others’ costumes, show off their own handmade creations, take lots of photos and make new friends!
